A Keanu Reeves movie where he doesn't say "whoa"? NO WAY!

YES WAY! I was out with Amanda today at Metrotown and we saw "Constantine". Even though the movie was very hyped up, I was still expecting it to be good... and that it was. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while actually. I thought pretty much everything was well done, off the top of my head I can't think of anything I didn't like. I didn't find it hard believing Keanu was John Constantine, a lot of people thought he would just be like Neo in the Matrix movies. It had a great story which looks like they left room so they could make a sequel and the special effects (when needed) were very well done I thought. All-in-all I was very impressed by this film and it exceeded my expectations which always makes me happy. There was even a little Keanu Reeves corny humour in some parts which I thought was a nice touch. A definite 2 thumbs up and 2 big toes up for this one!

Hockey day in Canada

Today I played hockey with Amer, Malcolm, Dilly, Terran, Tyler, Brandon, and Kyle. Chris McLeod also stopped by to chat for a while. It was really nice to get back into my blades after so long especially cuz there's not gonna be anymore NHL hockey this year and I've been craving hockey so much. We played for about 4 and a half hours, it was a workout. My legs are gonna be hurting tomorrow, I'll tell ya that for free. Overall we played 3 games, the teams I were on only won once... oh well though, it was good fun. Before we played our second game, Chris was playing around with my hockey stick and he shot something at Amer and the blade flew off and hit Amer's leg. It was pretty funny. Somehow, the screw in the blade actually broke in half... half was in the stick, half was in the blade. It's sad there will be no hockey season this year, but it's nice we can play and keep the game alive.

"The Grudge" review

Tonight I watched "The Grudge" starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, it wasn't bad. I liked the fact it was based in Japan, movies nowadays are always based in the USA. There were a lot of jumpy parts but, when you actually got to see the evil girl's face it wasn't that scary looking. I jumped a few times, the first time I said "oh fuck". I didn't scream it lol I just said it. Overall I don't think the movie was really that good, but it was worth seeing once I guess. It was basically the typical thriller where someone's walking up to a door handle for like 5 minutes with scary music and you're wondering what's on the other side of the door. That happened like 20 times... the writing wasn't that good. I was surprised it was a product of Sam Raimi's, he can do better. I think "The Ring" storyline was much more entertaining. Also, "The Ring 2" is coming out in theatres soon, that's one I definitely wanna see.

The ups and downs of being a hockey fan

In the past week I've gone from being so happy and excited to a complete low. The NHL and NHLPA have toyed with my brain and I want it to stop. First it was they're gonna have an agreement and there will be a shortened season, then it's no they haven't and the season's cancelled. Wednesday, they officially announced the season's cancelled. Then 3 days later they say they're talking again trying to save the season and it looks like they've come to an agreement. But, once again I'm let down and there was no agreement and there will be no hockey season. I just wish they wouldn't leak anything out to the media and then no one would get their hopes up. I'm a huge hockey fan and I don't like my feelings being played with. So it looks like a for sure thing that were will be no shortened season this year, guess I'll have to watch basketball... hah, not fuckin likely!
